One paramedics unit was assigned to a standby-fire on Martineau street, as St.Hyacinthe firefighters battled a major fire in a commercial building. A total of four alarms were necessary to get control of the fire, which completely destroyed the building and caused major damages to an adjacent house and a boat.
The intervention was particularly difficult because of the presence of numerous highly flammable substances, the frequent explosion of numerous products, and the sudden collapse of the roof and a concrete block wall.
